Launch HydraCALC is used to open the standalone HydraCALC application from inside Revit via a button located on the HydraCALC ribbon. It is no different than launching HydraCALC from the desktop icon, shown below.
Any changes made to any files will not load back into Revit automatically after editing, unlike when utilizing the Hydraulic Calculations command.
Summary
- Click Launch HydraCALC
- This will open the standalone HydraCALC application. This is entirely unconnected from Revit.
- From here, you can go to the File section of the options bar at the top of the application, to open recent jobs.

How Do I Use The Button?
All that is needed to use the Launch HydraCALC button, is to click it where it's positioned on the HydraCALC for Revit ribbon. Once it is clicked, it will open the standalone HydraCALC application, the same one that a user may have on their desktop. It's just a shortcut to this application that is located inside of Revit.
Once inside, if you'd like to make changes to a recent Hydraulic Calculation ran from Revit, without rerunning the Hydraulic Calculations command, under the File tab on the options bar at the top of the application, there is a list of recently completed calculations.
Clicking on one of the jobs listed below will load the spreadsheet with data from that calc, which can then be edited here independent of Revit - and without having to reuse the Hydraulic Calculations command.
