HydraCAD Ribbon: Elevate Panel
Used to insert Define Sloping Pipe markers on multiple pipes. Define Sloping Pipe markers are required on the 2D piping system to represent pitch or slope in the system model. They are normally not required on piping whose elevations are set from a specified distance below the structure that pitches.
Slope Pipe Markers should not be used in conjunction with below structure pipe elevation specifications. Pipe elevations should be specified using AFF specifications.
Typically, on a dry pipe system, the entire system is designed to pitch back to a low point drain. This utility will add pipe slope markers to all main and branch pipes by picking a start point. The process will use a specified rise / run for main and branch pipes. The user has the option of starting from the low or high point and adding slope marks to all connected pipes, or single straight run of pipe.
When the command is started, the commands line will prompt with a number of options.
[One Segment - All connected pipes - Computer Determined Slope - Insert Stop Marker - Display Current Settings - Settings ? ] <One Segment>:
Pick on any of these options for the next step.
One Segment will place Slope Pipe Markers on a straight run of system piping starting from the end of a selected pipe.
All connected pipes will place Slope Pipe Markers on all connected system piping starting from the end of a selected pipe. There will be one marker for each straight run of pipe. A Stop Marker can be inserted into the system at the end of a pipe to prevent the Slope Pipe Markers from continuing. Stop Markers are required in gridded or looped systems.
Computer Determined Slope will place Slope Pipe Markers on a straight run of system piping starting from the end of a selected pipe. The rise/run is automatically set to a value of 0. This is used to connect pipes with known elevations with a sloping pipe. Piping Elevation AFF Specifications are required at either side of the Computer Determined Slope, similar to computer generated riser pipes.
Insert Stop Marker will insert a Stop Marker at the end of a selected pipe.
Current Settings will display a dialog box indicating if the start will be a low or high point, and the rise and run for Branches and mains.
Settings will present a different group of options at the command line.
Low point start – Hight point start – Main set slope – Branch set slope - Done
Pick on these to change to Low or High point starts with the previous commands. Adjust the slope by picking Main set slope and Branch set slope. Done will exit back to the previous commands.
