Override Fitting Examples
The example here shows a grooved coupling on a main. If the Listing tag for this main was configured under the Fitting Group as Mains – Stnd Grv E&T-Thrd POL & 1” Thrd Arms, the coupling would be listed as a standard grooved coupling.
You may want to have certain couplings as FireLock couplings instead of the default Standard couplings. To do this, you would override the fitting.
Start the Override Fitting command and set up the box as shown.
Select Coupling and then FireLock Coupling. Press the Insert Fitting Override button and pick the coupling to be changed.
The fitting receives the override block as well as the label. This coupling will now be listed as a FireLock coupling. Use this technique to override any fittings that are available from the Fittings lists.
If you want to insert several Override Fittings at once, select Insert Multiple Overrides. Press Insert Fitting Override and pick any of the typical blocks to override.
Next, pick all of the blocks you want to override with a crossing window.
Right click and all of the selected blocks will receive the override fitting.
Adacaps / End of Run Fittings
Use these at the end of a welded branch line instead of a tee and cap. Insert using the Override Fitting Command from the Elbow shape list
Adacap & F-lck Coup adds an Adacap and a FireLock coupling. If the coupling that appears is on the wrong side of the last head, simply rotate block 180 degrees to rectify.
Other End of Run Fittings include End of Run, ENDALL and UltraLok
Drain Elbow
Adds a grooved Drain Elbow to the stocklist.
Inserted using the Override Fitting command from the Elbow shape list. You will be prompted as to whether the Drain Elbow is to be inserted at the Top or Bottom of the riser nipple. Pick Bottom.
Grooved Outlets
Used to specify grooved outlets for riser pipes.
GOL Welded Grooved Outlet will place a grooved outlet at the bottom or top of the riser nipple.
Mechanical Tee
This specifies a Mechanical Tee at a riser nipple. Use Mechanical Tee and answer Top to place a mechanical tee at the top of the riser nipple.
45, 22- and 11-degree Elbows
Grooved or threaded 45, 22 ½ and 11 ¼ degree elbows can be specified with Override fittings.
The shape is Coupling. Select the fitting from the list. Insert at a pipe break.
You can also specify two 45 elbows back-to-back with Overrides. They are available in threaded or grooved ends. The threaded 45 elbows will include a close nipple. One inserted block will yield both elbows.
Crosses
Several cross fabrication options are available. Combinations of welded, grooved and threaded ends are offered.
Inspector’s Test Kits
Inspector’s Test Connection kits are available for wet and dry systems. These kits are created and maintained in the HydraLIST database.
The Override is applied as a cap.
