Operating Sprinklers
Layer(s) affected: HYD
Alias: OPS
Associated Commands: [Start AutoCalcs]
HydraCAD Ribbon: Process Panel
Used to identify and label operating sprinklers for a hydraulic calculation. When you start the command, the dialog box here will appear.
If you have only one remote area, leave the Area Number as 1. If you have multiple remote areas, select a number to identify each area from the list. Sprinklers identified as operating will carry the Area Number identification tag from this setup box.
If you have already setup your remote area with a polyline or with the Remote Area command, select Polyline. After pressing OK, you will be prompted to select the remote area border. Pick the polyline and all of the contained heads will be marked as Operating. This is the quickest method.
If you want to pick each head to be Operating, select the Head(s) option. After pressing OK, you will be prompted to Select Objects. Pick the sprinklers and right click. The selected sprinklers will be tagged as operating.
The figure here shows an activated sprinkler. An operating spray pattern and the area number is displayed for each sprinkler. An operating sprinkler can belong to more than one remote area.
If you have a sprinkler that belongs to more than one area, it must have a spray pattern inserted for each area number.
