You can use up to 99 areas on a drawing. If you have only one remote area, leave the Area Number as 1. If you have multiple remote areas, select a number to identify each area from the list. Sprinklers identified as operating will carry the Area Number identification tag from this setup box.

If you have already setup your remote area with a polyline or with the Remote Area command, select Polyline. After pressing OK, you will be prompted to select the remote area border. Pick the polyline and all of the contained heads will be marked as Operating. This is the quickest method.

Operating Sprinklers 4

If you want to pick specific heads to be Operating, select the Head(s) option. After pressing OK, you will be prompted to Select Objects. Pick the sprinklers and right click. The selected sprinklers will be tagged as operating. Anything else will be filtered out.

The figure to the right shows an activated sprinkler. An operating spray pattern and the area number is displayed for each sprinkler. An operating sprinkler can belong to more than one remote area.

If you have a sprinkler that belongs to more than one area, it must have a spray pattern inserted for each area number.
